CAMDEN AREA FAMILY HISTORY SOCIETY  Research

In the few short years that the Society has been operating, we have compiled quite a large data base of local pioneer families and their descendants. To date this data base contains in excess of forty thousand names and is growing daily.

As our Society is run entirely by volunteers, we are sure you will understand that we can not provide an instant-response email service for detailed enquiries. However we will endeavour to answer any basic enquires within a week or two via our email. For more detailed enquires we suggest you forward via post, as much information as you are aware of to identify 'your family' and this will allow us to assist you further with your enquiry.

The Society has a charge of $25.00 per surname being researched. This includes up to 15 pages of photocopying and anything over that is charged at 20 cents per page.

Legible photocopies of BDM Certificates held in our files are charged at $2.00 each.

Copies of photographs held in our files are charged at: $ 5.00 each for 6"x4" (15x10cm)

If you would like the Society to carry out research for you, please include an A4 size stamped (2x50c) self-addressed envelope with your cheque or money order ($25.00 per surname) and the details of each of the names you require to be researched to:

RESEARCH PROJECTS

Our research officers and volunteers are constantly on the look out for new sources from which to gather, extract, transcribe, compile and publish information to share with fellow genealogists and family historians.

Their work also helps to finance the purchase of the new resources that we all need to research our family history.

We are happy to receive any information or requests from fellow researchers, that they would like to contribute to or for inclusion in any of our projects.
