This site ( formerly called "HistoryPix" ) contains a unique collection of images of the Camden District from early times to the present day. It shows the physical growth of the area, the people who made it happen and their lifestyles at work and play. The original images are held by the Camden Historical Society and the Camden Library Service and are provided in a joint co-operative undertaking for the benefit of those interested in local history. Seminar April 2009 Camden Remembers In the Camden District there are a number of Memorials and Monuments that contain the names of the men and women who served in the Armed Forces. As part of Heritage Week 2009 The Camden Remembers Project is a joint venture between the Camden Historical Society, Camden Library Services and the Camden Returned Services League Sub Branch, we are looking to put photos to the names. With Anzac Day fast approaching the Camden Remembers Project and the Camden Historical Society are seeking your help in naming our Unknown Diggers. November 2008 Camden Area Family History Society has released the new amended, extended and revised edition of the Camden Pioneer Register Third Edition1800-1920.November 2008 ![]() November 2007. In a community partnership between the Camden Historical Society, the Dictionary of Sydney and Camden Library Service, Camden Historical Society is contributing to the Dictionary of Sydney project.The Project is building an online resource covering every aspect of the history of Sydney, from earliest human habitation to the present, it will include a new scholarship, images, maps, sound, film and more. There are 23 localities in our area that are on the list for the Dictionary of Sydney. The first meeting of the Camden working group was held on Sat 17 November 2007 for the purpose of writing entries. Each volunteer writer offered to take one entry and write up the detail necessary for the locality. This includes the origin of the name, a short history, current developments, any special events, community organizations and other matters of importance.
